Summary 5 Major Generals elevated to rank of Lieutenant General in round of promotions

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Promotions and reshuffling is taking place at high-level of Pakistan Army. Lieutenant General Ashfaq Nadeem has been appointed Corps Commander Multan, Lieutenant General Javed Ramdey Corps commander Bahawalpur while Lieutenant General Zubair Mehmood has been appointed Chief of General (CGS) staff.

According to Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa, reshuffling and promotion in high levels of Pakistan Army is taking place.

Lieutanant General Anwer Ali Hyder has been appointed as President National Defence University, Military Secretary Lieutenant General Zaheer Jamil has been appointed DG Strategic and Plan Division.

Prior to this, an announcement had been made by ISPR in which it was said that five Major Generals have been promoted to Lieutenant Generals.

Out of the 5 officers whose rank have been elevated, 2 belong to Infantry, Engineering Corps while one belongs to Ordinance Corps.

The officers who were promoted to Lieutenant General were as follows; Major General Amir Mehmood Hayat, Major General Zafar Iqbal Malik, Major General Mehmood Bukhari, Major General Anwar Ali Hyder and Major General Shahid Baig Mirza.

DG ISPR said that the Corps Commander Bahawalpur General Javed Iqbal will retire after completing his service in May while Corps Commander Multan Lieutenant General Abid Pervaiz will complete his service in coming month and will retire duly.
