KARACHI (Dunya News) – Citizens faced problems in holding wedding ceremonies amidst ban on illegal wedding halls in the city, reported Dunya News on Thursday.
Residents of Karachi welcomed PPP leader Sharjeel Memon’s decision to demolish wedding halls built illegally on government land. The decision however has raised disputes among residents and owners, with latter refusing to pay back the advance fee, amounting to lacs, given by people.
Talking to Dunya News, the affected families appealed to the Minister for Local Government that he should inform the residents of the area about the wedding halls deemed illegal adding that potential financial loss could be avoided if the names of such halls were disclosed.
