Summary PML-N inherited incompetencies of the past governments, says Nawaz Sharif
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Thursday has said that elimination of extremism and improvement in economy is government’s top priority. He said that the country has witnessed a record 13-year-low inflation.
He expressed these views in a meeting with a delegation of the World Bank headed by Annette Dixon in the capital.
The PM said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government has inherited the incompetencies of the past governments however, the economy stands better now than ever.
He further said that the macro-economic situation of the country is improving while the foreign exchange reserves have increased significantly.
The government is laying great focus on education and economy, he added.
While talking about war on terror, PM Nawaz said that the Pakistan Army has given numerous sacrifices and the government would not let those sacrifices go in vain. The PM said that the Operation Zarb-e-Azb has hit the militants hard and crippled their network. Most of the areas have been cleared off insurgency and the process of repatriation of the affected families has also started, he added.
The World Bank delegation said that the aid to Pakistan has been increased in light of improved economy. The delegation further expressed a resolve to continue playing role for peace and stability in the region.
