LAHORE (Dunya News) – The power shortfall on Tuesday has been reported to have de-escalated to at least 3,600 Megawatt (MW) due to the recent rains in different parts of the province.

According to the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC), the wave of cold weather in Punjab and northern areas of the country has resulted in decreased demand of electricity. The demand and the supply of power now stand at 13,300 MW and 9,700 MW respectively.

The unannounced outages have also decreased due to de-escalation of shortfall.

However, the at least eight-hour long outages are being conducted in rural areas while six in urban areas.
