ISLAMABAD (Dunya news) – The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday has rejected the plea seeking vacation of the President House, the Prime Minister (PM) House and the Governor houses.
The petitioner, A K Dogar maintained that the houses must be utilized to establish educational institutions. He stated that the country is still functioning on the colonial system while the judges demand to be addressed as ‘my lord’.
The hearing of the plea was held by a three-member bench headed by Justice Saqib Nisar. During the hearing, Justice Nisar said that the state functions on the basis of institutions. The facilities provided to the state leaders are to be decided by the policy makers.
Dogar said that in a democratic country the people reserve the right of power. The country is not secular but Islamic republic, he added. Justice Nisar remarked that Dogar must not tell the court what democracy is. The court is not holding a hearing to learn the definition of democracy.
Moreover, the Justice told the petitioner that the attendees neither need to stand up on his arrival nor he should be addressed as ‘my lord’.
