ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday congratulated Barrister Sultan for winning the Mirpur by-poll. He said his party beat both Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari, Dunya News reported.
Talking exclusively to Dunya News, Khan said he is very happy on the result. He also thanked Dunya News for timely and unbiased coverage of the election.
Earlier, PTI candidate Sultan Mehmood won the Mirpur LA 3 by-poll with a sizeable margin, Dunya News reported citing unconfirmed and inconclusive results.
According to details, PTI’s candidate beat Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Chaudhry Ashraf in whose favour Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate had withdrawn candidacy.
Barrister Sultan secured 15,691 votes while Chaudhry Ashraf got 12,811.
