Suspect aiding ANP's leader killing arrested in Peshawar

Summary Interrogation with the arrested suspect is still underway.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and intelligence agencies during a joint search operation in Peshawar today (Friday) have arrested a suspect involved in the suicide attack on Awami National Party (ANP) leader Bashir Ahmad Bilour, Dunya News reported.

According to details, the suspect has been identified as Fazal Muhammad and was involved in allegedly assisting the suicide attacker to kill the ANP leader in 2012.

The suspect has revealed that the name of the suicide attacker is Farooq whereas he kept him in his house for two days and took him to the specified place on the third day.

Furthermore, the interrogation with the suspect is still underway.

Bashir Ahmad Bilour was assassinated in a suicide attack in the Dhaki Naalbandi locality in the historic Qissa Khwani Bazaar on December 22, 2012.

Eight other people, including Station House Officer (SHO) of the Khan Raziq Police Station, Abdul Sattar Khattak, and Noor Muhammad, personal assistant of Bashir Bilour, were also killed in the suicide bombing.

The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) accepted the responsibility for the attack.
