ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday clarified that execution of death row inmate Saulat Mirza was deferred for 72 hours on the request of Balochistan government, Dunya News reported.
Addressing the National Assembly, the Interior Minister stated that the execution was postponed due to Mirza`s bad health.
He further said that Pakistan has made no formal request as yet on Karachi situation involving the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
He said the matters regarding use of uncivilized language by MQM Chief Altaf Hussain against security agencies, Rangers and armed forces came under discussion during his meeting with British High Commissioner to Pakistan yesterday.
Chaudhry Nisar said the murder case of Dr Imran Farooq which is also under investigation came under discussion. He said some progress on this case has been made.
No political implications should be searched in this case, he added.
The Minister said it is responsibility of the Pakistan government that to provide, whatever proofs it has, to bring the killers of Dr Imran Farooq justice.
