ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Deathrow convict Saulat Mirza will be hanged on March 19 in Mach Jail in Balochistan. Earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan had reserved the verdict over his clemency appeal s review petition.
Mirza s parents, wife and children have reached Mach Jail for final meeting before his execution.
According to the details, the Chief Justice (CJ) held hearing of the case in his chamber upon Mirza’s request. Petitioner’s counsel Advocate Lateef Khosa appeared before the court. Earlier, the registrar office had shown reservation over Mirza’s appeal. Later, he had filed an appeal against those reservations.
The registrar office officials had said that reconsideration appeal of his clemency petition is inadmissible. The convict had filed reconsideration appeals and clemency petitions earlier which were also denied. They had said that second reconsideration appeal over the SC’s verdict cannot be entertained.
