Summary MQM removed barriers on self-help basis
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The barriers and obstacles placed outside Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters Nine-Zero and on the roads leading to it have been removed. The MQM Raabta Committee claimed that MQM worker Waqas Shah was killed by Rangers’ firing and demanded a committee be formed to probe the killing, Dunya News reported.
According to the details, the barriers were removed by the MQM party itself and following the announcement, barriers were removed even from Mukka Chowk and Madani Masjid.
Lifters were also used to remove the barricades. MQM sources said the barriers are being removed on self-help basis. Reportedly, the barriers were placed at and around Nine-Zero amidst fear of terrorism.
It merits mentioning here that Rangers personnel had said that action will be taken to eliminate the no-go zones from the city; to which MQM chief Altaf Hussain said, while refuting Rangers’ claim, that Nine-Zero is not a no-go area.
