Summary Chairman PTI lauded the government for the strong action taken against prince for violating the law

LAHORE: (Web Desk) – A Qatari prince has been fined Rs. 80,000 on Tuesday for hunting the falcons in Dera Ismail Khan. The strict action taken by the KP government might have been something simple in a Western country but Pakistan is a country which Qatari and Saudi princes regularly visit to hunt the Houbara Bustard.

Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan lauded the government on Twitter for taking strict action against the Qatari prince and said that the move defined exactly what the ‘New Pakistan’ stood for.

Houbara Bustard is a rare bird that is generally found in North African countries and in Pakistan. While the hunting of the bird has sparked controversies in the past as well, the fetish of the princes doesn’t seem to shed at all.

However, the DI Khan police have set a new precedent in the country by fining a Qatari prince for violating a law in Pakistan. It is hoped that the lead will be followed by the police of all the other provinces in future.
