Summary Asif Ali Zardari felicitated Raza Rabbani on his unanimous endorsement as Chairman Senate.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday has invited Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif for dinner after the government favoured PPP’s Raza Rabbani’s appointment as Senate Chairman.
Leaders of all parliamentary parties are also invited to the dinner hosted by the former president.
In a statement issued today, Asif Ali Zardari has welcomed the decision of PM to endorse the nominee of the opposition parties Raza Rabbani for the office of Chairman Senate as a triumph of the charter of democracy and victory of the spirit of democratic accommodation and reconciliation.
Spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said that former president specially thanked all opposition political leaders including ANP’s Asfandyar Wali, Altaf Hussain of MQM, Ch. Shujaat PML-Q, Israrullah Zehri BNP-A, FATA senators for nominating Raza Rabbani for the office.
Asif Ali Zardari also felicitated Raza Rabbani on his unanimous endorsement as Chairman Senate.
