Summary Supporters started celebrating as soon as presidential candidate Masood Chishti was announced winner
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Presidential candidate for Lahore High Court Bar Masood Chishti of Asma Jehangir group has won the election and has become the new president of Lahore bar. All members of the Asma Jehagnir’s panel won in the annual election of the high court bar on Saturday, Dunya News reported.
According to the details, 7117 out of the total registered 19672 voters cast their votes through biometric system. Masood Chishti of Asma Jehangir group secured 4053 votes while Sheikh Shahid Maqbool of Hamid Khan’s group remained the runner-up with 3118 votes.
The newly elected president said that all efforts will be made to improve the ties between the bar and the bench.
