ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted different part of the country, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi and adjoining areas, on early Friday morning.
 

According to Pakistan Metrological Department, the epicentre of the quake was located 92 kilometres north of Islamabad at the depth of 32 kilometres.
 

The tremors were also felt in Murree, Abbottabad, Swat, Manshehra, Haripur, Malakand, Nowshehra, Shangla, Batgram, Muzzafarabad, Bagh and adjoining areas.
 

The quake spread panic among people and they rushed out of their homes, however no loss of life or property was reported till filing of this report.
 

Pakistan is among the most earthquake-prone regions of the world with high vulnerability to earthquakes.
 

In Oct. 2005, a high intensity quake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale jolted parts of Pakistan, causing large scale destruction and killing over 80,000 people besides leaving millions others homeless.
