PESHAWAR (Dunya news) – Students of Peshawar’s universities and colleges on Thursday protested on streets against the tuition fees increase. The process of rising tuition fees continues despite education emergency being declared in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The students raised voices for their rights outside Peshawar Press Club. The protesting students stated that the administration of the universities want to close the doors of education for underprivileged students by increasing the tuition fees. Protestors set tyres on fire and blocked Sher Shah Suri Road.

Two students were burnt while lighting tyres on fire. Both injured students were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. The injured students’ condition is out of danger.

The students demanded that the Governor KP should immediately cancel the fee upsurge.They warned that if their demands were not met the protests will be spread even further.
