Summary Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired Balochistan apex committee meeting in Quetta.
(Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today (Wednesday) chaired a meeting of Balochistan apex committee in Quetta to review implementation of the National Action Plan in the province.
The meeting was attended by Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, DG ISI, Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik and other top officials.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister stated that National Action Plan was formulated with consensus of the political and military leadership.
He directed all the provinces to speed up the implementation on National Action Plan to combat terrorism.
Practical results of implementation should be witnessed clearly, he added.
He said difficult decisions have to be made. The government has the responsibility to enforce and implement this plan.
KEY DECISIONS
The apex committee has decided to strictly monitor the borders to improve law and order situation in the province.
The meeting also reviewed all the cases forwarded to special trial courts in Balochistan. Reportedly, 53 cases have been sent to military courts so far.
Authorities have also suggested to conduct targeted operation against extremists in the province.
