Islamabad: Lawyers observe strike against Lahore police lines blast

Summary Lawyers boycotted the courts and hoisted black flags on the bar rooms.

ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Lawyers of Rawalpindi and Islamabad observed a strike against the attack on Lahore police lines, disrupting the hearings of various important cases including Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) corruption case and Benazir Bhutto murder case, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.

Strike was being carried out by Islamabad High Court (IHC), Islamabad District Bar, Rawalpindi High Court and Rawalpindi District Bar on the call of Punjab Bar Council.

As per details, Lawyers boycotted the courts and hoisted black flags on the bar rooms.

The strike has affected the hearing of Benazir Bhutto murder case which was later adjourned till tomorrow whereas OGRA corruption case also faced difficulties due to lawyers  protest.

Lawyers further urged government to take serious steps against the eradication of terrorism by executing terrorists.

Earlier, at least five people have been killed and 25 injured in a suicide blast outside Police Lines in Qila Gujar Singh area of Lahore on Tuesday, Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police Mushtaq Sukhera said.
