ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Monday urged the officials to form a transparent accountability system and also stressed to enhance the salaries of bureaucrats as the process of giving relief to the nation is being affected due to inefficiency of the officials.
A high-level meeting headed by PM Nawaz took place to review the performance of ministries and departments. The meeting was also attended by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Maryam Nawaz, Tariq Fatmi, Danial Aziz and Khawaja Zaheer.
Addressing to the participants of the meeting, Nawaz Sharif expressed that the government is keen in improving the traditional system of departments so that the nation would be able to enjoy further relief.
PM Nawaz ordered to establish monitoring cell in PM office to appraisal the duties of government officials.
He further stated that the elected leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are eager to bring improvement in economic and administrative structures in long and short terms.
Reforms in the civil service should be made for nation’s affluence by keeping in view the internationally adopted steps, he added.
PM Nawaz claimed that many of the high officials are ineligible to strike the deadline while doing their work. This problem has affected the efforts of government made to provide relief.
Furthermore, PM has directed to submit the report on this issue and re-convened the meeting after the time span of two days.
