Summary MQM offered coalition to PML-F while PPP also offered to fight election in coalition with MQM
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Political manipulation between parties has heated up in the view of nearing senate elections, Dunye News reported on Tuesday. Contacts between Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Muslim League – Functional (PML-F) have been established in the regard while MQM has also been offered a coalition by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). PPP has also called a meeting of its Parliamentary Board for interviewing the candidates.
According to the details, MQM’s Babar Ghauri contacted Sadaruddin Rashidi of PML-F suggesting him to cooperate in the senate elections.
MQM delegation also met PPP leader Senator Rehman Malik. Former Interior Minister offered MQM to contest the election in coalition with PPP. MQM, however, hasn’t responded to the offer as yet.
On the other hand, PPP has also called the meeting of its parliamentary board for interviewing the candidates who have filed their nomination papers for Senate elections on PPP ticket. So far, PPP has received 125 applications that have been sent to former President Asif Ali Zardari.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif will also interview Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) candidates for senate elections on Wednesday.
