Summary ECP, in case of delay, may suspend Speaker until the final judgment, suggests PTI chairman.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan met Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Sardar Mohammad Raza Khan on Monday and forwarded the demand of forming two task forces.
Talking to the media after the meeting, Imran Khan said that one task force should be dedicated to derive ways that would grant overseas Pakistani’s their due right to vote and the other to bring electronic voting system to counter rigging in future.
I asked the CEC to set up 2 task forces: One for electronic voting & other for working out how Overseas Pakistanis would be able to vote.

PTI chairman also provided CEC with evidence of rigging stating that Election Tribunal had to pass the verdict pertaining to rigging in NA-122 in a four-month stipulated period, but has failed to do so, while the case has now been dragged for two years.
He said that Election Commission holds the authority to conduct day to day hearing in case the decision gets delayed. The ECP also holds the power to suspend the person against which the petition has been lodged (Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq), until the final judgment, he added.
He further said that the results were due in February; any delay thereof would entice them to take to the streets again.
If all doors to getting justice are closed to us, we will come out on the streets again. We will not give up our struggle for justice.
