Summary SC dismissed the case by terming the verdict of July 31, 2009 as final.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) on Monday dismissed the petition registered against the decision of declaring the Martial law of October 12, 1999 as legitimate, Dunya News reported.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Saqib Nisar heard the case in which petitioner Zafar Ali Shah requested to change the decision of Zafar Ali Shah case on which SC remarked that the plea to mull the decision has been filed after 3324 days, therefore, it is not appropriate to take out any further hearing on this issue.
Appellant argued that if the court can hear Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto case after 40 years than the case of Zafar Ali Shah can also be heard. Responding to the statement of which, Justice Saqib pronounced that the Bhutto case was referred by the President of Pakistan whereas Zafar Ali Shah has also ready been reviewed.
Moreover, Justice Aijaz Afzal also showed his negative response over the trial of Zafar Ali Shah case and stated that the verdict of July 31, 2009 is the final decision in this regard.
