ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A meeting headed by Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif was held in Islamabad today (Monday) to review the current situation of energy crisis and furnace oil supply and demand in the country, Dunya News reported.
As per details, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif along with other high officials attended the meeting.
According to sources, the PM approved extension to the contract to supply 650 megawatt electricity to Karachi whereas he has also ordered to provide a technical report regarding the energy crisis in the next 48 hours.
The PM was also briefed on the causes and restoration of the ongoing power crisis in the country.
Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif said that the power supply will be brought back to normal in a few hours.
However, the PM stated that a comprehensive system should be formed to avoid such power shutdown in the future whereas; he directed the law enforcement agencies to beef up the security of high voltage transmission lines in the country.
