Summary JIT completed its report on Novelty Bridge Faisalabad Firing Case, accused 3, acquitted legislators
FAISALABAD: (Dunya News) – Federal Minister of State for Water and Power Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali and former Law Minister Punjab Rana Sanaullah have been acquitted from the Novelty Bridge Firing Case, reported Dunya News on Sunday.
According to report, Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has completed its report in which Abid Sher Ali, Rana Sanaullah, MPA Tahir Jamil and DCO Faisalabad Noor-ul-Amin Mengal have been acquitted. JIT has accused three persons in its report.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) had held a protest in Faisalabad on December 8, 2014 where a clash between PTI workers and the supporters of ruling Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) took place at Novelty Bridge. A PTI worker lost his life in result of firing.
Case had been registered against Rana Sanaullah, Abid Sher Ali, Tahir Jamil and DCO Faisalabad and JIT was formed to investigate the case. According to JIT’s report, the three legislators and the DCO had nothing to do with this issue. The report says that these four people were innocent while three persons naming Ilyas, Hafiz Imran and Usman have been accused in the case
JIT report will be presented before the court on Monday.
