Summary Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan has lost a 'sincere friend' in form of the late king

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The funeral prayer in absentia of the late Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz was offered in Islamabad on Saturday. Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan has lost a ‘sincere friend’ in the lost of the late king, Dunya News reported.

The funeral prayer in absentia was led by Federal Minister on Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf at Faisal Mosque and was attended by Sartaj Aziz, Mian Muhammad Soomro, In-charge Affairs of Saudi Embassy and ambassadors of Islamic countries to Pakistan.

Talking to the media on this occasion, Sartaj Aziz said that demise of King Abdullah is a tragedy for the Islamic world and that Pakistan has lost a sincere friend.

He said Late King Abdullah helped Pakistan in all tough times, adding that he hopes the relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will further strengthen in the reign of the new king Salman.

Sardar Yousaf said that late King Abdullah considered Pakistan as his ‘second home’, adding that the relation of love between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will prevail for eternity.
