NA 122: Minor irregularities found in audit, says judge

Summary PML-N, PTI workers chant slogans as the judge gets his statement recorded before the tribunal

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Inquiry Commission Judge Ghulam Hussain Awaan has recorded his statement before the election tribunal on Saturday, reported Dunya News. Ghulam Hussain Awaan talked exclusively to Dunya News on this occasion and said that minor irregularities were found in the audit of the NA-122 elections. He said that no proofs of rigging were found in the audit, only a few minor irregularities were found.

On this occasion, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers came face-to-face outside the tribunal office and chanted slogans in favor of their leaders and parties.

Inquiry Commission Judge Ghulam Hussain Awaan said that NA-122 was thoroughly audited and irregularities were found in the audit. He said that seals of some of the bags were broken but that did not count as rigging according to him.

Lawyer of NA-122 winner Sardar Ayaz Sadiq completed his arguments and interrogation. While talking to media, he said that rigging has not been proved in the NA-122.

Chairman PTI Imran Khan’s lawyer said on this occasion that Imran Khan’s stance had been vindicated as ‘massive rigging’ was found in the election audit.

Tribunal adjourned the proceedings till January 31 after local commission’s statement and directed Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to present his evidence.
