Summary The Constitution of Pakistan is a national document, says Fazlur Rehman
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman on Thursday has said that the country is passing through one of the most difficult phases. He said that they are ready to hold negotiations with the government over the 21st Amendment in the Constitution.
He expressed these views while addressing the participants of a seminar regarding the 21st Amendment in the Constitution in Aiwan-e-Iqbal.
Rehman said that they are ready for negotiations with the government over the matter of 21st Amendment in the Constitution. He said that the government should not force them to take harsh decisions. JUI-F chief said that the publication of blasphemous caricatures has disturbed the nation.
He said that Islam gives us all message of peace and brotherhood. Rehman said that the Constitution of Pakistan is a national document. He urged the people of the country to avoid sentimentalism and try to understand the agenda of the western countries.
Allama Awais Noorani, Moulana Allah Wasaya, Professor Sajid Meer and others also addressed participants of the seminar. They said that they would not allow anybody to take a single step towards maddaris (religious institutions) with ill motives. JUI-F chief said that they would protect the madarris and not let ill forces come near these institutions.
