Summary Participants of the meeting assured to work together to curb terrorism from the country.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday termed National Action Plan (NAP) as a key towards development and stated that the Federation will cooperate with the provinces in combating terrorism.
According to details, a high-level meeting to discuss the implementation of NAP was chaired by PM Nawaz in which the security of the country was discussed whereas Nawaz Sharif also reviewed the efforts taken to curb terrorism.
During a meeting, PM Nawaz expressed that the strength of law enforcement agencies is government’s first priority.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar briefed the premier and all the ministers regarding the twenty points of NAP whereas PM Nawaz added that terrorism can be eliminated from the state through NAP.
He further vowed to take every single step for the betterment of Pakistan and ordered to appoint people in police department on the basis of the merit.
Nawaz Sharif stated that the military courts have been made to hear the terror related cases whereas the Apex Committees are also doing their work faithfully.
Further, the issue of Afghan immigrants’ registration was also raised during the meeting.
Moreover, the meeting was attended by various prominent leaders including federal and provincial ministers, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and Directorate General Inter-services Intelligent (GD-ISI) General Rizwan Akhtar.
