Summary Karachi has a petrol stock of as many as 40 days, says Minister for Petroleum
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday has said that the rumours of petrol shortage in Karachi are spread by the people who are planning to get benefit out of these. He said that the people should not pay attention to such baseless news.
According to a statement, Abbasi said that there is no petrol shortage in Karachi and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has a stock of at least 39,000 liters. The demand of petrol in Karachi is at least 800 ton liters per day, he added. He said that Karachi has a petrol stock of as many as 40 days. The minister said that at least 9,300 ton petrol have been supplied countrywide on January 19 (Monday). Whereas the target of PSO was only 6,000 ton, he added.
Abbasi said that the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations would remain open the entire week in Karachi.
