ISLAMABAD (Dunya News)—Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued another notice to alleged mastermind of Mumbai attacks, Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi over the government’s plea against the suspension of his detention orders. In response to FIA prosecutor’s request to expedite the case, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarked that the case could instead be taken to the military court.

During the hearing of the case in Islamabad High Court, the FIA prosecutor requested to expedite the case by shifting the hearing to an earlier date. Justice Shaukat Aziz responded that if they can’t wait, the case can be taken to the military court instead.

FIA prosecutor said he doesn’t have the authority to transfer the case to the military court. He informed that two countries have demanded handover of Lakhvi.

Justice Shaukat contended by saying that foreign affairs are a concern of the government and can’t impact judicial proceedings.
