Summary Government has appointed Shahid Islam as acting managing director of PSO
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources has appointed Shahid Islam as the acting managing director (MD) of Pakistan State Oil (PSO). The notificiation in this regard has already been announced, reported Dunya News.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had suspended four top officials including MD PSO Amjad Janjua on Saturday in view of the petroleum crisis. Shahid Aslam is also member of PSO Board of Management. Taking strict notice of petroleum crisis upon his return from Saudi Arabia, PM Nawaz had suspended Secretary Petroleum Abid Saeed, Additional Secretary Petroleum Naeem Malik and Director General and Managing Director of PSO Amjad Janjua.
Shahid Islam has previously served in Pakistan International Airline (PIA) as well. Sources claim that Shahid Islam is one of the closest friends of one of the federal ministers.
