Summary Justice Asif added that the administration should also show its responsibility now.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Justice Asif Saeed Khosa of Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday said that the statement of Prime Minister has made him unhappy as court is performing its duty honestly whereas Justice Jawwad Khawaja stated that the pending cases are not due to court’s negligence.

Two-member bench under the presidency of Justice Jawwad Khawaja heard the case regarding the betterment of police investigation in which prosecutor general Punjab told the apex court that steps are being taken for the betterment of police for which legislation has also been taken under consideration.

Justice Jawwad Khawaja urged leaders to overcome their negligence so that the court would work more efficiently. He said that courts are not here to decide the penalties rather they are responsible for providing justice whereas criminals get bail due to imperfect investigation.

He further asked the administration that who will compensate the loss of those who was sent to prisons without committing any crime? He directed to take an action against corrupt police officers.

Justice Sarmad Jalal inquired that what action has been taken against those officers who submit reports without doing complete investigation. He further denounced the establishment of military courts and asked that the judges of military courts are more efficient and intelligent as compare to other courts?

On the other hand, Justic Asif Khosa during the hearing of a case related to the plight of prisoners in jail remarked that PM statement has disappointed him as 2400 judges are needed to hear 70 lac pending cases. He further alleged government of not proving funds, place and the solution to other issues.

Moreover, Justice Asif added that the administration should also show its responsibility now.
