Summary Police had asked Faraz to give Rs 10 lac bribe to them, accuses Rizvi

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi movement (MQM) Haider Abbas Rizvi on Saturday has said that Faraz was not wanted in any criminal case and the police had asked for at least Rs 10 lac bribe from him.

He expressed these views while talking to the media.

He said that it has become a usual habit to arrest MQM workers and shift them to unknown places. According to the medical report, Faraz was severely tortured. He said that police would probe a matter of torture by their own people, their colleagues. How Inspector General (IG) Sindh could let such a terrible act right under his nose? Rizvi asked.

Two days earlier, the Khokhrapar Police have arrested Faraz in an alleged target killing case. Faraz died of torture today (January 10) in police custody. The body has been shifted to the Jinnah Hospital.

The family of the tortured turned aggressive with the police in the hospital.
