Summary PM Nawaz chaired 7th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday stated that it is government’s priority to add more electricity to the national grid before summer to reduce sufferings of the masses.
The Prime Minister gave these remarks while presiding over 7th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy in Islamabad
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Federal Ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Shahid Khaqa Abbasi, Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Minister of State for Petroleum Jam Kamal, and Advisor on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz are also attending the meeting.
The meeting reviewed progress on implementation of decisions taken in previous meetings.
On the occasion, the premier said that all impediments in the way of speedy generation of electricity should be removed.
He said authorities should also work on alternate energy resources including solar and wind power to maximize power generation.
Long term efficient projects should be undertaken to reduce loadshedding and provide cheaper electricity to people, he added.
