NA meets today to discuss Peshawar tragedy

Summary MPs have called for taking pragmatic steps and legislation to avert such incidents in future.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The National Assembly will resume its session in Islamabad at 4:00pm today (Friday) to discuss the incident of attack by terrorists on Army Public School in Peshawar.

The discussion will be held on the motion moved by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmed.

Earlier on Thursday, the normal business of the House was suspended to facilitate discussion on the Peshawar tragedy.

On the occasion, Leader of the Opposition Syed Khurshid Shah strongly condemned the attack on Army Public School Peshawar and called for strict laws to take the terrorists to task.

Other lawmakers also called for taking pragmatic steps and legislation to avert such gruesome incidents in future.

Those who spoke on the occasion included Parliamentary Secretary Rajab Ali Baloch, Sahibzada Muhammad of Jamaat-e-Islami, Shah Jee Gul Afridi, Abdul Rahim Mandokhel of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and Tahir Iqbal of PML-N.
