Govt leadership approves National Action Plan Committee's 17 recommendations

Summary The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister (PM)

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The meeting of the National Action Plan Committee chaired by the Prime Minsiter (PM) on Wednesday has approved of as many as 17 anti-terror recommendations.

Following recommendations were proposed by the committee headed by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan:

1- Either restructure NECTA or establish National Counter Terrorism Council

2- NECTA shall issue a Red Book of the most notorious terrorists

3- The issue of the Afghan Muhajireen shall be resolved
4- Administrative and constitutional reforms must be brought in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA)

5- The issue of the safe return and rehabilitation of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) shall be resolved

6- Criminal Justice system shall be reformed

7- Counter terrorism and Rapid Response Force shall be formed in the entire country

8- Provocative speeches, material and religious extremism shall be incorporated in the Schedule 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 and the printer, composer and publisher of such material be punished

9- Law and order be enforced in Karachi and Balochistan

10- The provincial governments shall better the police of issuance of weaponry licenses

11- The communication system of terrorists shall be destroyed

12- The mis-use of social media by terrorists shall be stopped

13- Extremist organisations shall be banned

14- Terrorists involved in the extremist activities and Schedule 4 shall be arrested

15- All the madarris (religious institutions) shall be registered

16- Advertising of terrorists on print and electronic media shall be banned and the violators be punished

17- Speedy Trial Courts shall be established in the country and the cases be finalised within due time
