ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The majority of political leadership on Wednesday voiced in favour of formation of the military courts to fight terrorism during a session of parliamentary leaders chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Dunya News reported.

The parliamentary leaders also passed the recommendation to strengthen National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar said that a special force will be formed to fight terrorism and that uniformity of civil-military relations is also important.

According to the details, PM took the parliamentary leaders into confidence during the session that took place in Islamabad.

The leaders on the occasion offered various recommendations and the recommendation to strengthen NACTA was approved.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan supported formation of military courts for a specified time period.

Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) also endorsed PTI’s stance.

Mushahid Hussain Syed said that now is the time to take decisions without wasting any time.

Qaumi Watan Party, Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen and FATA’s Abbas Khan Afridi also endorsed all of the government’s steps including formation of the military courts.

Ejazul Haq said that the country faces now-or-never situation and that the military courts are the solution of the problem.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman said that there’s no way other than force to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has asked for the draft of the formation of military courts. PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan said that they can give an opinion about it only after looking at the draft.

Awami National Party (ANP) also asked for time for consultation. Ghulam Ahmad Bilor said that he can only give an opinion after consulting with the party leadership.
