ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) member Liaqat Balosh on Friday has demanded off the government to restructure the Election Commission (EC) of Pakistan and said that the negotiations teams of both Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government must be made independent for decisive negotiations.
He expressed these views while talking to the media after the delegation of JI headed by Baloch met the newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Pakistan Sardar Raza Khan.
The JI’s delegation presented the draft of proposals for the betterment of the election system to the CEC.
Baloch stressed the restructuring of the EC saying that the institution has been controversial for a long time and it is important that it is reoriented.
While talking about the resumation of talks between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the government, he said that only the commission would resolve the issue between the two sides.
The issues would be resolved through dialogue, he hoped.
