Summary Fewer than people standing on container attend sit-ins, can't be allowed to spoil economy, says PM
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the sit-in protesters are on an anti-Pakistan agenda. He said that fewer people than those standing on the container attend the sit-ins now.
On his return from Kathmandu on Thursday, PM Nawaz Sharif said that the sit-ins cannot be allowed to spoil the economy of the country. “Those who failed to make a ‘New Khyber Pakhtunkhawa’, want to destroy the country”, he said. “Sit-in politics will not continue in the country”, he added.
Nawaz said that the people did not vote for sit-ins. He said that it would have been better if the sit-in protesters came to parliament to criticize the government’s policies. “They use official cars and petrol to attend the sit-in”, he said.
Responding to the question regarding talks with India, Prime Minister said that India’s decision to call off the talks, making high commissioner’s meeting with Kashmiri leaders an excuse, was not a step in the right direction. “India’s violation of the Line of Control made the situation critical”, said the PM.
