LAHORE (Dunya News) – As many as two polio workers on Thursday were tortured by a family while they were performing their duties in the Union Council number nine of Ravi Road.
According to details, Sunny and Tehseen were providing polio vaccine to the children of the Ravi Road area when members of a family started beating them up.
On their complaint, the police reached the scene immediately and arrested two persons for torturing the polio workers.
After the incident, many polio workers of the area gathered and demonstrated a protest outside the Ravi Road Police Station.
They said that the police are pressurising them to let go of what has happened.
After the news broke out on television channels, the Punjab Chief Minister (CM) took notice of the incident and ordered the Secretary Health and the district administration to compile a report of the matter.
