ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Following the orders of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif on Saturday has recommended the reduction of 46 paisa per unit in October s electricity tariff.

According to ministry of water and power’s spokesman, as per ordered by PM, a complete information regarding October s total power output has been forwarded to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) referring to reduce 46 paisa per unit under the monthly fuel adjustment.

He further pronounced that final decision and notification of reduction would be issued by NEPRA after conducting a public hearing.

According to a report sent by government to NEPRA, total 8326 gigawatts electricity has been produced in the month of October in which production of electricity by hydel is 38.46 percent, 33.40 percent by RPF, 18.30 percent through gas and 2.95 percent from diesel.
