Summary Ishaq Dar had agreed upon PM's resignation after rigging was proven in the General Election 2013
MULTAN (Dunya News) – Former Prime Minister (PM) Yousaf Raza Gillani has said that the time to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has passed and that one man could drive the country out of the crisis single handedly.
He expressed these views in a combined press conference at the residence of veteran political figure Makhdoom Javed Hashmi on Monday.
Gillani said that if he was the PM of Pakistan, he would have resolved the issues of the country by collaborating with all the political parties.
He said that Federal Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar had agreed upon PM Nawaz Sharif’s resignation after rigging was proven in the General Elections 2013 but PTI needed guarantee from Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif which the PTI leadership could not get.
On the occasion, both the political leaders agreed that it is the PM’s prerogative to decide the date of holding of elections but if elections are held before necessary reforms then rigging woes would rise once again.
