Summary A medium-range forecast centre will be established to mitigate natural disasters
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Japan and Pakistan signed an agreement on Thursday regarding a grant worth around 3.64 billion Yen for natural disaster mitigation and improvement of sewage system in Pakistan.
Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Inomata and Pakistan Economic Affairs Division Secretary Nargis Sethi exchanged the documents in the signing ceremony on Thursday.
According to the agreement, Japan would give Pakistan a grant worth 3.64 billion Yen for two projects.
A medium-range forecast centre would be established for natural disaster mitigation which would cost around 2.61 billion Yen. The weather forecast system would also be upgraded.
In another project Japan would help Pakistan to better sewage and drainage system in Gujranwala which would cost around 1.3 billion Yen.
