KHAIPUR (Dunya News) – A bus collided with a truck on Tuesday morning near Theri Bypass in Khairpur, resultantly, 58 people lost their lives and dozens were injured.
A bus en route from Swat to Karachi, after refueling at a pump station, collided with a truck loaded with coal. The bus caught fire after the collision within no time and passengers including, women and children died.
Police and rescue teams reached the spot and recovered the bodies after cutting metal frame of the bus. The bodies were transported to Risalpur using C-130.
As many as 45 bodies were identified and most of them were residents of Swat including a family of six members from Madin whereas five were from Mian Adam and 16 passengers were from Karachi.
The injured are being treated at Khairpur Civil Hospital and Sukkur Civil Hospital and many of them are in critical condition.
