Summary PM will soon visit Karachi for his first meeting after change in chain of command, indicates Nisar.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Talking to the media after addressing Rangers Public School’s annual prize distribution ceremony in Lahore on Tuesday, Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar said Karachi was under grave threat on 10 Muharram but preemptive measures including intelligence based raids and detentions saved the day.
He commended the role played by the Rangers in terms of security and maintaining peace adding that rangers are not the only security agency we have, police reserves the primary responsibility.
Karachi’s situation is not ideal but one must praise superior performance, he added.
He indicated that Prime Minister will soon visit Karachi which would be his first meeting after the change in chain of command.
Nisar said they intend to rejuvenate the operation as there are several areas that need serious attention still which has been discussed with Director General (DG) Rangers Khan Tahir Javaid.
