Summary Chinese president will inaugurate projects in Pakistan being run with Chinese cooperation

BEIJING, ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Chinese president Xi Jinping will visit Pakistan withing next two months, Dunya News reported. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will formally invite Chinese premier to Pakistan during his visit to China as well. Chinese president will inaugurate the projects in Pakistan being run with Chinese cooperation.

PM Nawaz Sharif will meet Chinese president and premier during his three-day visit to China. He will discuss the regional security and political situation with them and will also take the Chinese authorities into confidence regarding Indian aggression on Line of Control and working boundary. Signing ceremony of various projects will also be held in Great Hall of China.


Pakistan and China will sign agreements on energy, infrastructure and economic cooperation worth 33 billion US dollars. Out of the total 25, 18 agreements are related to energy projects. Most of these projects will be completed by 2017.


Dunya News has received the details of the expected agreements that are going to be signed between Pakistan and China during PM’s visit. According to the documents, Pakistan and China will sign agreements on energy, infrastructure and economic cooperation worth 33 billion US dollars. Out of the total 25, 18 agreements are related to energy projects. Most of these projects will be completed by 2017.

Agreement on laying cross-border fiber optic will be signed during this visit. Seven agreements between Chinese and Punjab governments will be signed while five will be signed between Chinese and Sindh governments.


PM Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan and China will improve their relations to bring revolution improvements in the living standards of the people living in both the countries.


On the other hand, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has termed Pak-China friendship as indispensable for regional security. He said that both the countries will join hands to strengthen the economies of their countries. Talking to media on arriving in Beijing today (Friday), PM Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan and China will improve their relations to bring revolution improvements in the living standards of the people living in both the countries. He said that China is Pakistan’s trusted friend and this friendship will now evolve into strong economic ties.

It is pertinent to mention here that PM Nawaz Sharif has gone to China for attending Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Conference. He will also meet Chinese president and premier separately. Pakistan and India both are candidates for membership of APEC. China wants both the countries to be members of APEC. PM Nawaz Sharif will also appeal before the Chinese authorities to use their influence for resolving Kashmir dispute.
