Summary 132 criminals have died so far in police encounters in Lyari, says Karachi IG
KARACHI: (Dunya News) Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah has said that we cannot leave the people of Lyari amid gang wars and that the area needed five more police stations.
He expressed these views in a meeting called to minimise crime rate in Karachi especially in Lyari at the CM House on Friday.
He has said that in Karachi, especially in Lyari, besides northern areas, Balochistan and banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP), terrorists and criminals from other countries also come until whose nabbing, the war with the evil elements would go on.
The meeting also resolved to increase the allowance of police officers, appointed at police stations in ‘sensitive’ areas in Karachi, including Lyari.
The CM also directed the authorities concerned to immediately issue Rs 50crores under Lyari Development Package for the development projects in the area.
While briefing the meeting on law and order, Karachi Inspector General (IG) of Police Ghulam Qadir Thebo said that 132 criminals have died so far in police encounters in Lyari and that target killing incidents have decreased as compared to those in previous months.
