KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Fraud against hundreds of citizens this year during Hajj has unearthed. Not only the fake visas have been identified, pilgrims have also reached for Hajj on visit visas. Investigation has been started in this regard and Saudi government will also be contacted for thorough investigation of the matter. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Foreign Ministry has also been demanded.

According to Dunya News sources, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have received hundreds of complaints against agents. Sources claim that NAB has been directed to investigate about all the people who had paid the Hajj fee but weren’t sent on Hajj while FIA has been ordered to investigate about the pilgrims who were sent on Hajj on visit visas.

The number of people who had been deceived in the name of Hajj is in millions. Most of the affected people belong to Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP), Hazara Division and Baluchistan. According to the sources, 60 complaints have been received from Karachi and interior Sindh in which the complainants have claimed that money was taken from them in the name of Hajj but they have not received their money back as yet. Sources claim that the amounts paid by these people totals in millions.

Cases of the people who were attempted to be sent on Hajj illegally via United Arab Emirates (UAE) have made shocking revelations. These people were arrested in UAE and deported to Pakistan. It has also been revealed that most of the people sent by a Karachi agent, who has an office near Cantt. Station, had “Khuddam-ul-Hajjaj” visas and had paid around eight hundred thousand to one million rupees. The people who were on visit visas had also paid around same amounts of money.

All these people had been issued visas from Saudi Foreign Ministry and Saudi Consulate officials didn’t give them a proper check. These people were given visas through agents.

Sources have told Dunya News that investigative agencies have asked 12 questions from Saudi government via Foreign Office regarding the issuance of visas and the investigation will be carried forward after receiving the answers of these questions.
