KARACHI (Dunya News) – The security across country was tightened on Saturday ahead of Youm-e-Ashura. Pillion riding was banned in Karachi and the MA Jinnah Road was blocked with containers, Dunya News reported.
According to the details, the Empress Market and other locations were also sealed.
The cellular service in various cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi and Peshawar will remain suspended on 9th and 10th of Muharram for security reasons.
According to the details, four districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been declared extremely sensitive. The correspondence in this regard has been sent to the federal government.
Aerial surveillance through helicopters will be carried out in as many as 54 districts.
The federal interior minister Chaudhry Nisar has directed to arrange foolproof security across the country on Youm-e-Ashur.
Reportedly, as many as 32,695 personnel from army, rangers and Frontier Corps (FC) will be deployed on the security.
