Summary Nawaz told CMs to bring down transport fares, commodity prices after reduction in petroleum prices
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed chief ministers of all the provinces to ensure that the benefits of reduction in petroleum prices trickle down to the masses. He asked them to take steps for reduction in transport fares and prices of other commodities after reduction in petroleum prices, Dunya News reported.
In a letter to all four chief ministers, PM Nawaz has said that the federal government has provided the provinces with another ample opportunity to offer relief to the people. He has directed the provinces to utilize all their resources to provide relief to the masses. Prime Minister said that the petroleum prices have been reduced gradually over the period of eight months. “By God’s grace, economy of the country is improving and the benefits must reach the public”, he maintained. He said that role of the provincial governments is critical in bringing down the transport fares and people expect relief from their governments, therefore, chief ministers should take personal interest in providing relief to the common people.
