KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has said that he commemorates October 31, 1986, as a day of great tragedy. He said that an attempt to eliminate MQM from Pakistani politics was made on this day.
Addressing MQM Rabita Committee, senator, members of parliament and other MQM office-bearers today (Friday) on phone, Altaf Hussain said that the ‘establishment’ tried its best to annihilate MQM on October 31, 1986, in Pakka Qila, Hyderabad. He said that ‘agencies’ tried all the methods to break him down but failed. “When they got tired of beating me, they sent me to jail making bogus cases against me”, said Altaf. He said that this tragedy is such a painful and dreadful tale of MQM’s struggle that can never be forgotten.
